UUID Generator
Cryptographically random UUIDs generated in your browser, one or a thousand at a time.
v4 or v7?
UUID v4 is 122 bits of pure randomness. It's the most widely supported choice and reveals nothing about when or where it was made.
UUID v7 (RFC 9562) starts with a millisecond timestamp, so new IDs sort in creation order. That makes them much friendlier as database primary keys: inserts land at the end of the index instead of scattering across it, which keeps B-tree indexes compact and fast.
Can two UUIDs collide?
In practice, no. You would need to generate about a billion v4 UUIDs per second for around 86 years to have a 50% chance of a single duplicate.
